前导引言与考情
星期三，可怕的文学翻译在敲门。
最近收到一些同学的留言，说自己练习翻译有三四个月的时间，但似乎没有看到明显的效果或者译文质量的提升。这实属正常现象。
汉英翻译学得越久，你就会发现自己知识上的盲点和漏洞到处都是。一开始以为翻译只是需要有良好的英文表达能力，包括词汇量，语法知识等等。但实际上做的材料越多，就会感觉到，翻译的知识和能力要求其实是没有边界的。
你必须有良好的中文阅读理解能力——面对一些材料，特别是一些抽象的措辞，理解的思路和最终的结果，都容易与原文希望传递的信息相差甚远。特别是原文里面有一些隐藏的含义以及语义关联，需要大家学会分析字里行间的言外之意，而不是肤浅的字面含义。这是挖掘内在含义的重要过程。
而且，还必须要拥有丰富的背景知识。很多同学做政经类的材料做久了，积累了不少相关的概念或者表达；但如果换成科技类、文化类、甚至是文学类，就感觉无从下手。俗话说得好，隔行如隔山。很多专业的概念，包括一些常见的套路表达，都需要慢慢积累。
当然，不管是什么类型的文本，什么难度的文本，语言层面的基本要求始终是不变的。那就是：语法错误越少越好。能够做到这一点，就已经超越了70%的同学。
