The political leadership is crucial to the CPC Central Committee’s authority and its centralized, unified leadership. When we asses the caliber and capabilities of an official, especially those in high position, we should judge in the first place whether it is politically resolute and reliable. A purposeful and trustworthy official should have Four Consciousnesses, uphold the Central Committee’s authority and its centralized, unified leadership, keep in line with the Central Committee in thinking, action, and political orientation, implement the Central Committee’s decisions and plans resolutely in all works, and not engage in any manuverings.

The Party has clearly stated that it exercises overall, systemic, and integrated leadership and that its lifeblood lie in maintaining its solidarity and unity. The centralized, unified leadership is the highest principle of the Party’s leadership, and upholding and maintaining it is common political resposobility of each and every party member. In upholding the Party’s leadership, we must, first and foremost, take a clear stance in maintaining political integrity to ensure that the whole party obeys to the Central Committee.
